This review highlights emerging antibacterial nanoparticle designs, including inorganic antibacterial nanoparticles, responsive antibacterial nanocarriers, virulence nanoscavengers, and antivirulence nanovaccines. Through rational designs emphasizing physical, broad-spectrum, biomimetic, and antivirulence mechanisms, these nanoparticles have the potential to overcome antibiotic resistance and improve the treatment against bacterial infections.
